Chris Tomlin wrote an amazing song called “God of this City,” and i absolutely love it. This evening at our wednesday night service we played it and it was a hit. I made a background loop to play behind the words during worship. So i took the loop, just threw the name of the song up for this video and added the audio track. just a reminder, this is not a professional recording… i just threw a cd in and recorded worship straight from the main feed. then i threw it over into an mp3, added the video loop… and here ya go. ha. i also put a video with chris tomlin performing the song… just in case you wanted to take my version and scrutinize it. so sad that our keys player couldn’t make it tonight. oh well. it was a blast for the first time playing it. the first is Chris Tomlin, and the second video is me on acoustic/vocals, david villareal on drums, sam solano on bass, alex meissner on electric, and nicole day on backup vocal.
P.S. i included the lyrics at the bottom
CHRIS TOMLIN – GOD OF THIS CITY
ME – GOD OF THIS CITY
Verse 1:
You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation
You Are
You’re the Light in this darkness
You’re the Hope to the hopeless
You’re the Peace to the restless
You are
Bridge:
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
Chorus
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
